  • Flowers
  • Fruits
  • Roots
  • Mosses
  • Barks
  • Woods
  • Spices

  • Herbs
  • Blossoms

All ingredients falling into all categories here are Vegan.

How are Essential Oils related to Ziza products?

All Ziza fragrances are customised blends of numerous natural oils in different measures, derived from the spectacular variety of ingredients listed above: all found within nature.  The distillation processes for all ingredients in these listed categories contain zero chemicals and/or other synthetic substances.

The essential oils that are used in all Ziza products are very highly concentrated forms of aromas extracted from their respective natural ingredients.  For example, it may take up to 10,000 individual rose flowers to be distilled to fill a single 5ml bottle with pure Rose essential oil.

What Is Attar / Ittar?

These are both variations of the same word whose general translation from Arabic means “perfume”.

They are mostly always comprised of purely natural distillates (ie. without use of any chemicals) of flowers, herbs, spices and the other main categories of ingredients listed above in this FAQ.  At Ziza, absolutely all of our Attars are created without any chemical processes.

What is Oud / Oudh?

This is a very special type of fragrant dark resinous wood from specific types of trees in different geographical locations around the world.

Oud is also generally known as Agarwood, Aloeswood or Gharuwood.  First-grade Agarwood is one of the most expensive natural raw materials in the world.  Technically, Oud doesn’t refer to a category of fragrances (just the same as Musk), but rather is a highly revered ingredient out of many that can be used in the making of any particular Attar / Perfume.

Are all Ziza products really Alcohol free?

Yes.

No alcohol is contained in any of the ingredients of our products.  No alcohol has been used in any of the processes in the making of all of our products.

All Ziza products contain highly concentrated all-natural aromatic constituents that do not require perfumers’ alcohol of any kind for their distilling, thinning, binding or reasons otherwise.

What is Musk?

Musk is a class of aromatic substances that include secretions from animals such as the musk deer, numerous plants emitting similar fragrances and artificial substances of similar scent.  Natural musk was used extensively in perfumery until the late 19th century when economic and ethical motives led to the adoption of synthetic musk, which is now used almost exclusively around the world in the productions of any types of fragrances.

Technically, Musk doesn’t refer to a category of fragrances (just the same as Oud), but rather is a highly desired ingredient out of many that can be used in the making of any particular Attar / Perfume.

Please be aware that there are no animal related Musks in any Ziza products, nor will there ever be.

Does Vegan really mean Vegan?

Yes.

All ingredients within any of our products are not from or related in any way to any kind of animal.  “100% Vegan Product” is printed on all our fragrance boxes without exception.
